“…Hanada snipes the first from behind a billboard’s animatronic cigarette lighter, shoots the second from the basement up through a pipe drain as he leans over his sink and blasts his way into the third’s office and escapes on an advertising balloon. Misako then appears at his door and offers him a nearly impossible contract to kill a foreigner, which he cannot refuse having just been told the plan. During the job a butterfly lands on the barrel of his rifle causing him to miss his target and kill an innocent bystander. Misako tells him that he will now lose his rank and be killed. Hanada makes plans to leave the country but is shot by his wife who then sets fire to their apartment and flees. His belt buckle, however, stopped the bullet…”

(I post this because aside from mumbling the word “schadenfreude” to myself in the car until I was forced to look the word up to supplement my contextual understanding with a more concise meaning, I like the idea of a “modern collection of rare words”. hello xmas gift ).

According to a translation of the post by Azrael from the Shoryuken forums, the post teases big news that will also be appearing in next week’s issue of Japanese video game publication Famitsu, with a promotional video going up on the Capcom site around the same time.”

My guess is Elena, based solely on the arc of what is obviously a focus attack. the stage might be a distraction…as it was already shown when Capcom announced the bonus stage. hurm.

Moon took a lot of sci-fi movie cliches and turned them on their ear. without spoiling much; the robot is not the enemy, it’s not all an obtuse dream or hallucination to wrap your brain around and there aren’t any “thriller” or violent type scenes with monsters or bad guys to get your blood roiling or distract your short attention span. the whole thing sort of looks in at itself and wonders with you.

the movie is shot well, minus the credits plastered onto the first 2-3 minutes in myriad ways. it’s like the director’s best friend is a middling typography student and he just let’m have at it. regardless, the scenes involving the lunar surface were so intense to me. I can’t tell if the loneliness and beauty were exaggerated, but I don’t really want to know… kind of like how I don’t want to give up on the endless rain forests hidden beneath Venus’ noxious cloud cover. it was all very surreal and romantic.

I am confident that this act would result in mass destruction.
